Why do therapy with me?
I’m a warm, supportive, kind and creative woman offering you space to be with yourself on a regular and consistent basis. My way of working combines many different threads and I’ll invite you to connect with yourself and notice how you feel as much as I will invite you to think. This really matters as we can over-rely on thinking and this gets in the way of feeling.
Together we will explore your feelings, thoughts, challenges or delights. You’ll have the space and time to work through any aspect of your life that interests you including relationships, home-life, work, creativity and more. You might like to formulate actions and/or practice new ways of being. In therapy everything is up for grabs and rich for discussion.
How it works…
We meet online (or in person near Wallingford from Spring 2026) and talk. I listen attentively, inviting you to explore things that might be difficult to talk about in the more usual course of events. I’ll ask questions that help you deepen your exploration and also reflect with you. I’ll also share techniques and information that I think will help you gain understanding and skills to live in a way that feels satisfying.
Sessions last 50 minutes and take place weekly.
How you live each day is how you live your life…
The patterns and habits developed as a response to adversity can get in the way and be hard to shift. They may prevent us achieving the things we want or even feeling satisfied with life.
The first important step is to notice that you’re not feeling great, that you want something more and that you’re open to exploring that. Then therapy offers space to reflect and take time, away from the pressures of life and in a space free from judgement, to consider what’s going on and what you want.
Together we’ll work to help you notice yourself emotionally and physically so you can learn to support yourself to feel happier, more grounded and ultimately more satisfied with your life.
Life changing skills; boundary setting, anger and critical voice management…
When we can set boundaries clearly and kindly everything improves; we know how to make space for what we want and no longer feel compelled to say ‘yes’ when we mean ‘no’. This is life-changing.
Knowing that your anger is permissible is also life-changing. So many of us were taught to be ‘nice’ when, in fact, our job in my view is to be authentic and real. To do this we need to express our anger safely. Bottled up anger creates depression and physical symptoms, causes relationship problems and squashes creativity. Knowing that your anger can be harnessed and used creatively is also life-changing.
The critical voice in your head, the one that tells you that you’re wrong in some way, can prevent good decision making as it’s often out of date. Noticing is the first step and therapy will help you do this, then you can explore what you tell yourself and learn to manage it so it doesn’t rule your life.
